Documentaries Seattle is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving the history, culture, and natural heritage of the Pacific Northwest through documentary filmmaking. We create films that educate, inspire, and connect people with the stories that have shaped our region and continue to influence its future.
Our productions are created for public television, Washington State classrooms, museums, libraries, and community organizations, ensuring that these stories remain accessible to learners of all ages. Every project is made possible through the generous support of foundations, corporations, and individual donors who believe in the power of education, history, and public storytelling.
By combining meticulous historical research with cinematic storytelling, innovative editing, original music, animation, and immersive sound design, we transform historical subjects into engaging films that entertain as much as they educate. Our goal is simple: preserve Washington’s collective memory and make it freely available so future generations can better understand the people, places, and events that shaped the Pacific Northwest.
